Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which this conference will be held, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture, and honour that connection..

Positionality Statement

Where we're starting from

This is our first time hosting the conference series on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land, and we're conscious that we're still learning about this specific context.

We're not conducting research ourselves. Coaching in the Round is a platform, and we hope Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander coaching researchers and coaching practitioners will choose to present their own research work.

Coaching in the Round is the fourth conference in a growing international coaching research conference series, following events in the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa. Each conference has been shaped by the place and communities hosting it, and 2027 is no different, it will be shaped by the specific Country and community hosting in so-called Australia, on Gadigal Country.

This statement will be revisited and updated as our understanding develops.
