Travel and accommodation information

The Black Voices in Coaching Research Conference was developed as a direct response to the 2022 call to action by Roche and Passmore. It provides a platform for meaningful and bold dialogue, shares cross-cultural knowledge and builds actionable strategies for the global empowerment of Academics, Coachers and Coaching Researchers, not only those located within westernised contexts.

By answering that call, the conference aims to bring about positive change and to support a more inclusive and representative academic coaching community and global coaching ecosystem.

Read our Diversity Statement

Our speakers will address topics central to the conference theme. Delegates will gain insight into culturally responsive coaching, and into navigating identity-based bias and oppressive contexts. They will also contribute to the discussion.

The conference fosters global contributions to advancing diversity and equity in coaching research.

3. Preparing for the conference

  1. Set your goals. Decide what you want to learn and who you want to meet. Every connection with a speaker, practitioner or researcher is a chance to learn something new.
  2. Do your own research. Find out about the conference's purpose and speakers. Who are they, and what might you learn from them? Check blogs and social media channels to see who else is attending.
  3. Plan your schedule. Conferences are busy and you may not reach every session you planned. Keep your goals in mind and be willing to change course if that serves you better.
  4. Pack smart. Bring what you need to be comfortable: comfortable clothes and shoes, business cards, notebooks and pens, a laptop or tablet, chargers and power banks, a water bottle and snacks, and any materials you want to share. A travel adapter and some spare cash are also useful.
  5. Be an active delegate. Try not to sit in the same spot all day: change your seat, change your perspective. Aim to speak to as many people as you can each day, or make a friend for lunch or tea breaks. Plan questions to ask in the open forum or in a private chat.

It's your conference experience, and there is everything to gain.

Our team is dedicated to supporting you. If you have requirements these FAQs don't cover, please get in touch.

Please email us confaus@blackcoachers.com before the conference so we can make arrangements for you. See also our Web Accessibility Statement.
